Camping – what Gradbach is all about!

Although Gradbach is able to offer impressive indoor accommodation facilities for Scout groups, schools, clubs and other visitors to the site, it’s finest assets are its unique camping grounds.

Those who visit Gradbach to camp return year after year to enjoy the idyllic surroundings, the fresh country air.

Nestling on the valley side above the Dane and Black Brook, with it’s views out over Back Forest towards the Roaches, there just isn’t a better place to wake up in a morning!

You’re certain to discover your own ‘favourite spot’ to camp on one of Gradbach’s 18 sites. Each has its own individual charm and setting.

Open Fires / Wood Supply: We remain one of the few Scout Camp sites, who will still allow you to dig pit fires. Please ask the site staff for guidance on digging pit fires, or alternatively we have a number of altar fires that you can borrow.

Whilst we normally have a small amount of wood on site for fires this cannot be guaranteed and it is getting increasingly difficult to obtain. Therefore if you intend to use a quantity of wood during your stay, or are intending cooking on wood, then we ask you to bring your own. Alternatively it can be ordered (with free delivery to the site) from a local supplier Peaklogs:
